The election to vote new chairmen and councillors in the 21 local governments of Adamawa State has been shifted to December 4, 2021.

The election was initially scheduled for November 27.

The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) announced the shift via a statement to newsmen in the state capital, Yola, on Thursday.

The statement, signed by ADSIEC spokesman, Daniel Zira, explained that the shift followed a meeting with representatives of political parties.

He said that at the meeting presided by ADSIEC Chairman, Mallam Isa Shettima, made some crucial observations that necessitated the shift of the election date by one week.

“Observations were made on the earlier released timetable which led to some changes on the table to suit the activities of political parties,” ADSIEC stated.

The commission affirmed that the new date for the election has been scheduled for 4th December 2021 instead of 27th November 2021.
